How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
You don’t need a jeweler’s visit to get an accurate measurement.
Here’s the string (or paper strip) method:
1. Wrap a piece of string, thread, or a thin strip of paper snugly around the base of your finger — the part you’ll wear the ring on.
2. Mark the point where the ends meet, or cut the string at that point.
3. Check the fit — it should sit comfortably, not so tight it gets stuck, and not so loose it slips off.
4. Measure the length in millimeters using a ruler. That number is your finger’s circumference.
5. Match it to the conversion chart below to find your size. A couple of notes that make a real difference: For thicker or wider bands — think statement rings or pavé styles — consider sizing up slightly, since more metal touching the finger reduces how much it can flex. If you land between two sizes, size up rather than down.

Necklace Length & Closures
Rings aren’t the only pieces where fit matters. Several PSYLISH necklaces; including our Evil Eye and Diamond Drip styles, use a lariat closure with a sliding bead, which lets you set your own length rather than being locked into one size. On these styles, the product page notes the maximum adjustable length (commonly up to 18”, 21”, or 24” depending on the design), so you can wear it higher and closer to the collarbone or lower as a layering piece.
Other necklaces use a snap closure; a secure clasp mechanism at the back, rather than an adjustable slide.
Quick tip for layering: if you’re stacking multiple necklaces, look at each piece’s stated
length so they sit at staggered heights rather than overlapping at the same point.

Earring Closures, Explained
Since we get sizing-adjacent questions about earrings too, here’s a quick primer on the closures across our Studs, Huggies, Hoops, Ear Cuffs, and Dangly styles:
- Hinged / click-closure — common on huggies and small hoops; the hoop itself opens on a hinge and clicks shut, so there’s no separate backing piece to lose.
- Ear cuffs — worn without a piercing, gripping the outer ear instead of threading through the lobe, which is why they come in one adjustable fit rather than a sized range.
- Post and back — the traditional stud setup, secured with a friction back.

- Does ring width affect sizing? Yes. Wider or thicker bands (statement styles, sculpted pavé) fit more snugly than thin bands at the same labeled size, since more surface area touches the finger. Size up if you’re between two sizes and choosing a wider design.
